Because Every Child Deserves Opportunity

Building Readers, Leaders & Changemakers

Who We Are

DWW Children’s Library and Resource Centre is a community education platform based in Budadiri, Sironko District, dedicated to helping children and families thrive through reading, learning, and life skills development. We create safe spaces where children discover knowledge, build confidence, and grow into responsible future leaders.

Founded on the belief that education is a basic right, we work to strengthen reading and writing culture, improve academic performance, and nurture creativity, communication, leadership, and self-esteem among young people. Through our library programmes, literacy activities, cultural learning, and community engagement, we are building a generation prepared to transform their families and communities.

Our work also supports parents, teachers, and the wider community because when children are empowered, entire communities rise. Together, we are building a community of excellence.

Community Voices

Mrs. Claire Wambuza, Former Head Teacher, Kalawa P/S

Since the launch of the library, performance in Budadiri and the Elgon region as a whole has improved drastically, thanks to the vast amount of learning resources at the DWW Children’s Library and Resource Centre.

Mr. Henry Gibusiwa - Resident of Kalawa Parish

Many children in our community are benefiting from the library. They say it has helped them learn more and quickly expand their vocabulary. They also share that it has given them the chance to meet like-minded peers who are focused on bettering their future, inspiring them to work even harder at school.
